The Sandy Creek Bridge is one of four historic covered bridges that still remain in the state of Missouri. It was built in 1872 by John H. Morse and is named after the body of water it crosses, Sandy Creek. In 1974 it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and was totally restored by 1984. 205 acres of land, as well as the bridge make up the Historic Site.
The is no charge to visit the site. A picnic area is also available for visitors to stay and enjoy the site. Don't forget to bring your camera! The bridge and surrounding area is ideal for photographs!
