Fletcher House

The Fletcher House is located in Hillsboro, Missouri in Jefferson County. It was built by Thomas C. Fletcher who was born in another Jefferson County town, Herculaneum. He was the 18th Governor, as well as the first native born Governor of Missouri. He served as governor from 1865 until 1869 and ended slavery in Missouri on January 11, 1865 by executive proclamation. Fletcher had the home built in 1851 and it has now been placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
